I'm alive...

1 min read
Long story short I moved to the UK finally, but I didn't have anything to do any art for the last 9 months.
Taking this big step, looking for work, trying to stay alive mentally and physically wasn't easy, but I managed. Of course when we settled down I got some equipment from my beloved as a present and starter kit instead of all my stuff I had to leave behind, but I did not have the time or the energy to use them until now. I hope to be more active and do as much as I could. :) So if anyone is still watching me on dA I will try to present nice things, brace yourselves. :D
I'm still alive, guys!

I had the most positive experiences today with my arts teaching. As a teacher in practice so far I only had the chance to teach older children with my mentor watching and criticizing my every move. Today I taught 6-7 year old children in a different school, so my mean mentor was not present. :D  It was a big change to my previous experiences (as my mentor gave negative and not too constructive critiques all the time -.-).
So today I taught children how to paint snowflakes with the magic of wax and watercolors. They really enjoyed my lesson and they were motivated and inspired during the whole time. I was so happy when they asked for paper to paint more then one picture :aww:
But the main reason I'm writing this journal is not only to share my little feelings of success. I found a really touching part in my lesson. Children are capable of anything if they get the right methods and opportunities to show their own little artistic thoughts. I asked them to think about how they use their watercolors. They were able to realize tips like the use of less or more water with the paint and things like  the winter colors are not only blue, but are variable of many shades of blue, gray, purple and green. (I know these sound like the basics in painting, but unfortunately most teachers here don't really care or know about them -.-) They did a beautiful job today. At the end I asked them to choose a favorite from the works of their classmates based on the dissimilarity of the snowflakes' forms and the use of many cold colors. A girl and a boy was saying all the time that their work isn't right somehow, they didn't believe in themselves enough. And guess what? :D A lot of the children chose the work of these two! They really did their best and that showed in their pictures. The two magnificent morals of today's lesson for me were that I'm not that bad at teaching art as my mentor said I am and that the youngest children can be capable of many great things if they get the right motivation and explanation along with opportunities.

Okay, enough of me :D I'm really happy my little kids in the class were so enthusiastic and good today.

I had a memorable and remarkable discussion with my art teacher. We were talking about how people view a piece of art. Most people when looking at a piece of art (may it be a painting or a sculpture or even a musical piece) start thinking about what it might mean. (well basically everyone decides either to like it or not at the first glance) Every piece of art means something. That is the point of art in the first place. To have some inner meaning may it be a grand and globally interesting meaningful context or meaning for a small group of people or for the artist only. The biggest mistake people make while searching for the meaning of the selected piece of art is the point of view they are doing it from. Most people start pointing out what the artist wanted to show and make statements about what the artist must have been thinking in the procedure of making the artwork. Surely a painting is a projection of the artist's soul and mind just like as the handwriting can be useful to analyze a person. Although most people forget that art is a way of communication and communication is an interaction between at least two people. Art has different channels then speaking and different ways of giving an answer. Not only the artist projects a piece of their thoughts in an artwork, but also the viewer projects their answer into the piece of art. This theory especially applies to abstract art. The artist wants to show something and share a piece of their soul with the artwork and the viewer also shows a piece of their own mind while giving an opinion about it. The viewers project their own thoughts and souls with what they can see in the piece of art. Everyone is able to see something in artworks, but that doesn't guarantee the artist sees the same thing in it nor was the intention of making it the same. Art might be a way of getting to know the artist better, but it is also a way of getting to know yourself as well. :)
That's all for today's philosophy lecture from me :XD: Think about it, if you say it's worth a few seconds of thoughts :)

Now I can't decide to cry or to laugh at the note I received recently. One of my fanarts has been deleted by the DA Staff. The reason of the report: A member of staff has reviewed a report concerning this deviation and has determined that the characters depicted in a nude or erotic fashion are established as being underage.
Official policy, as outlined in the FAQ, does not allow fictional characters who are underage to be depicted in this manner so this deviation has been removed.

I'm terribly sorry for violating the policy of course and I'm also sorry about Ichigo being underage or whatever. I find this amusing and annoying at the same time, since there are sooo many yaoi fans out there pairing up 'underage fictional characters' in many many fanarts. According to this, all IchigoxAnyone (or from some other fandom for example all NarutoxSasuke fanarts) cuddled together too close and wearing unbuttoned shirts should be removed from DA. I'm not saying this as an offended user revolting against the rules. It's just an interesting matter to point out. I don't blame them for this. I know the DA Staff can't see all the countless submissions every day, but it is true that few users get punished while many similar fanarts exist unseen.

This hurts me only because that fanart of mine was a present to the person most important to me :( And now no one else can see it, except for those who have the opportunity to see the original picture.

Sign of life

Three pictures in two days... :D It feels so good to be able to draw again... (okay... I'm an emo-queen whining over my everyday problems, but sometimes those things really made me depressed) Thankfully there are some people who brought me back to life :) I hope to have more time, but that would require a miracle -.-
